JEANNETTE ANSOLABEHERE PORTER

Jeannette passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on November 11, 2025.

Born on July 15, 1942, to Pascal and Marie Ansolabehere, Jeannette grew up in Bakersfield, attending Beardsley Elementary and graduating from Garces Memorial High School.

On August 3, 1963, at St. Francis Church, Jeannette married the love of her life, Herman Porter. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters and were later blessed with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy throughout her life.

After raising her girls, Jeannette devoted 25 years to the Panama School District, working in food service. Beyond her career, she was known for her selfless heart and unwavering kindness. She spent many years involved with 4-H, always chasing the livestock shows with her family and friends. Jeannette also known as Mema to many, always put others before herself, offering help, comfort, and love to anyone who needed it – often before they even asked. Her gentle spirit and generous heart touched countless lives and left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pascal and Marie; her in-laws, Walter and Laveta Porter; her brother, Frank; her sister, Louise; and her brothers-in-law, Delbert Porter, Francisco Unamuno, and Joe Freitas.

Jeannette is survived by her devoted husband, Herman; her loving daughters, Teresa Andrews (Orville) and Kristine Hudson (Paul); her cherished grandchildren, Justin (Brittany), Amy and Anna Andrews, and Brad Hudson; and great-grandchildren, Trinity, Tristan, and Tatum. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Freitas; brother, Pascal Ansolabehere (Shirley); brother-in-law, Rick Porter (DeLynne); and numerous nieces and nephews.

On Thursday, November 20th, a Rosary will be held at St. Francis Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.

Jeannette will be remembered for her warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to live on through all those whose lives she touched. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before her.
