Graveside service for Jeff Massey, age 56, of Sulphur Springs, will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Tira Cemetery with Bro. Mike Eason officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Morgan Anderson, Derrek Harred, Kris Koon, Lance Ragan, Truman Ragan, David Ragan, Cephis Gregory, Brandon Crowson, Joe Elmore, Harold Bryant, Wade Bartley, Trey Whiteman, Shannon Gammill, Clifton Riley, Tim Potts, Tony Jenkins and John McNeil. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 P.M. at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home.

Jeffrey Lynn Massey went home to his Lord and Savior, Friday, November 3, 2023. He was known for his quick wit and contagious laughter. He was born on November 10, 1966, in Temple, Texas, to L.J. and Judy Wright Massey. Jeff was raised on 4M Dairy Farm in Dike, Texas, the third of four brothers. He grew up raising and showing registered Holstein cattle. Jeff was saved and baptized at Independence Baptist Church and was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs where he spent many years teaching children’s Sunday School. Jeff was a 1985 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and served as president of the FFA. He went on to graduate from the Worldwide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa in 1986.

Jeff’s greatest joy was his only son, Jackson Massey. He spent many years coaching Jackson’s baseball teams and traveling to countless rodeos. Jeff was his biggest fan and loved to celebrate his successes.

Jeff is survived by his son, Jackson Massey and fiancé McKenzie Ray; parents, L.J. Massey and Judy Cunningham; brothers, Mark Massey and Jeana, Mike Massey, Shawn Massey and Natasha, Laramie Massey; uncles, Andy Wright and Mary Lou and Tony Flippin.

He is proceeded in death by his uncles; Micky and Randy Wright and special aunt, Beckey Flippin.
