Dennis Jeffrey Mills, passed away on November 25, 2024 at Mission Hospital McDowell. Born in McDowell County on April 3, 1965, he lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a love for the outdoors.
Throughout his career, Jeff worked diligently for Dover Insulation and later for the State, ultimately for the North Carolina Department of Corrections. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional endeavors; he also honorably served in the National Guard, displaying his dedication to his country.
Jeff was not just defined by his work. He was proud of his volunteer service with the Dysartsville Fire Department, reflecting his deep commitment to the welfare of others in his community. A man of many interests, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, passions that connected him to the beauty of nature and provided him moments of joy and relaxation.
He is survived by his father, Tommy Hollifield Jr.; one sister; two brothers and one stepson. Close friend Tina Lackey; special neighbor, Rose Marie Anthony; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends also mourn his passing, remembering him for his kindness and unwavering support.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Fairah Hollifield, and his brother, Timothy Bryan Hollifield. They will always be remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Friends and family are invited to join in honoring Jeff's life during visitation at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion, North Carolina, on December 2, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. During these times, those whose lives he touched will come together to celebrate the legacy he leaves behind.
