Jeff Taulbee Jr.,74 of Frozen, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 12, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard after a life well lived,
Jeff was born June 23, 1950 to the late Jeff & Ethel Banks Taulbee in
Jackson, Ky and dedicated his life to serving his family, and his faith. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Joel Taulbee; and sisters, Mildred Robinson, Loretta "Helen" Carpenter, Christine Hager, Freda Lawson, Betty Davis, and Norma Jean Dunn.
Jeff was a proud foreman for Falcon Coal and Diamond Shamrock, where he worked diligently for many years. He was known for his extensive knowledge and skill in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, a true "jack of all trades," Jeff could always be counted on to find a solution to any problem, often coming up with creative fixes when others didn't know the answer.
In 1973, Jeff made the life-changing decision to give his life to Christ, and from that moment on, his faith became a cornerstone of his life. He was an active and beloved member of Keith Memorial Tabernacle in Magoffin County since 2008, where he was a strong witness to others of God's love and grace.
Outside of work and church, Jeff had many passions. He loved snake hunting, often taking his family and friends along for the fun. He also enjoyed farming, and spending quality time with his family. His strong will, love for the land and the outdoors was evident in everything he did, from tending to his farm to enjoying the simple pleasures of nature.
Jeff is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Karen Spencer Taulbee, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, joys, and challenges. Also surviving are his son, Michael (Sandy) Taulbee; daughter Melissa (Billy Ray) Roark; grandchildren, Kari Beth Roark-Vergne, Alyie Taulbee, Lukas Taulbee, Bridget Addington, Autumn Speier, and Holly Boemker; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Lily, Lane, Rose, Beau, Stella, Asa, Rocky, and Mason. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and a deep faith in God that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Visitation for Jeff will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM. and his funeral will begin at 1:00 PM. with Neal Bailey and Roy Collett officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Field Branch Cemetery at Frozen, with Sawyer Cooper, Jimmy Speier, Austin Vergne, Billy Boemker, Karl Allex, Lukas Taulbee, Johnathan Dunn, and Danny Taulbeeserving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Dunn, Jeff Noble, James Bailey, Steve Banks, Charlie Banks, Billy Ray Roark, Kelly Watts, Rickey Barnett, Randall Gillum, Mark Allshouse, Leonard Dunn Jr., and Joe GIllum.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Keith Memorial Tabernacle in his memory.
