Jeffery Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyd Funeral Home - Marion on Jan. 28, 2026.
"Jeffery Kyle Evans, age 62, of Sunbury, passed away at home on January 22, 2026. Jeffery was born in Marion, OH., to the late Vernon Leroy and Emma Gertrude (Jefferies) Evans on September 28, 1963.

Jeffery was a man that liked to be prepared. Those that knew him often referred to him as a "prepper" and "survivalist." With this he loved to go target shooting to maintain his readiness. Jeffery would also be considered a bit of a conspiracy theorist that believed that things are only conspiracies until proven to be true. Jeffery loved getting out and riding his motorcycle and indulging in "Good Smoke." When he had the time, he enjoyed going to the casino and became known as being lucky whenever he went.

What Jeffery loved the most was spending quality time with his daughters going out to eat, bowling, going to the movies, riding rides at amusement/theme parks, and getting scared at haunted houses. He was very involved in their lives, and he loved to travel with them. Just about every year as kids he would take them to Disney world and Universal Studios, he also loved to be on the beach at St. Augustine Florida, and even took his girls to the Bahamas. When they could not travel too far from home, he enjoyed taking them to the Renaissance Festival and even enjoyed Ghost Hunting. His biggest ghost hunt was done at the Ohio State Reformatory with his daughter Chelsea. He also loved his cats and always had a 4-legged companion.

Left to cherish the memory of Jeffery are his daughters, Chelsea D. Evans (36) and Nicole (33) (Sean Matthews) Evans and brother James Stacy (Elaine) Evans, cat Casper and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vernon Lee Evans, and cats Sugar and Tibby.

The family has asked that donations in Jeffery's honor be made to the Delaware Humane Society.

The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Jeffery Kyle Evans in their time of mourning."
