Jeffery “Jeff” Allan Sandlin, 53, loving husband of Jennifer Marchbanks Sandlin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Born in Birmingham, AL, to Wilma “Vonnie” Sandlin Sams and Allan Sandlin. Jeff had many passions: his family (his two children were his world) Clemson Football (with his Clemson Family), the Racing Community, and hanging with his friends that refer to themselves as “The Club”. He was of Christian faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting anything outdoors.
Jeff was a former EMT and firefighter before becoming a professional in the Motorsports Industry for thirty years. He worked in many divisions of racing from Grass Roots tracks to the NASCAR level.
Jeff was a technical salesman for Strange Oval and was very active with Jett Motorsports during the weekends and Factory Canopies. He was a dear friend and colleague to all who knew him and had the pleasure of working alongside him.
In addition to his wife of 20 years, he is survived by his daughter, Bella Rae Sandlin; son, Tilson Walker Dean Sandlin; Jennifer’s mother, Nancy Marchbanks, whom he called mom; sister, Lisa Sandlin Miller (Randy); three brothers, Lennie Sams, Jr. (Pam), Greg Sams (Donna), and David D. Marchbanks, III (Erin); three aunts, Faye Sandlin Bell, Debbie Slovensky (Ronnie), and Nita Wilbanks Collett; uncle, Ray Sandlin and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Vonnie Sandlin Sams and Allan Sandlin , stepfather Lennie Sams, Sr. , father-in-law, David Dean Marchbanks, Jr. and his maternal grandparents, Euel and Mildred Wilbanks and paternal grandparents, Woodrow and Louise Sandlin.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 1 PM at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 101 Pisgah Rd, Easley, SC 29642. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Rd, Easley, SC 29642.
