Jeffrey Lynn Balk was born February 21, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa to Curtis and Dorothy Balk. He passed away peacefully at his home in Show Low, Arizona on November 17, 2025.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Beverly, two daughters and 3 grandchildren --Jennifer (Dale) Rogers, Trevor, Kinley; Misty (Lance) Whitworth, Chase; and step-sister, Audrey (Richard) Meade.
Jeff worked for ADOT for 26 years at the Indian Pine Maintenance Yard. He enjoyed running equipment and became a good blade operator.
Jeff married Beverly Petersen on November 24, 1972 in Show Low, Arizona and they almost made it to their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Jeff's grandchildren were the highlight of his life. Chase was born in 2009 and Jeff was able to babysit him when he was 1 1/2 years old so Misty could work. Through the years Jeff was able to teach him many skills like running power tools and his tractors. Trevor was born in 2013 and is involved in horsemanship events, video gaming and baseball. Kinley was born in 2017 and is quite the artist and crafter. She also loves gymnastics, dance, and performing with the Rockin' Roadrunners.
Jeff struggled with his arthritis for many years, but kept a positive outlook on life. He did what he could to make sure things got done.
He will be missed so much.
He was a member of the High Country Church of Christ, where his services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on November 24, 2025 in Show Low, Arizona.
