Obituary of Jeffrey David Beyer
Jeffrey David Beyer passed away on December 30, 2023, with his wife, Peggy, and daughter, Bonnie, by his side. Jeff was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on September 26, 1946, to Cyril Joseph Beyer and Anna McCue Beyer.
After graduating from North Catholic High School, he enlisted in the USAF. After training as a radar repair technician, Jeff was deployed to Vietnam. He served four years active and two years in the reserves.
Upon discharge, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls. While living in Texas, Jeff became an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Upon graduation, Jeff was hired by the Veterans Administration, Benefits Division. He worked at several regional offices, before becoming an Assistant Director for Finance in Washington, DC. He retired in 2004 after 34 years of service. Jeff will be remembered for his witty sense of humor. Full of fun, he was the life of any party. He was kind and generous to all, always loyal to his many friends. He loved all sports, especially golf, tennis, racketball, and basketball.
In 2004, he married his second wife, Peggy. They were married for 20 wonderful years. Sharing the same sense of humor and a love of adventure, they traveled throughout the Caribbean, Ireland, Europe, Hawaii and Tahiti. They organized a family cruise with the goal of introducing Jeff's daughter, and Peggy's son and two daughters. Combined there were four children and spouses and seven grandchildren. Their blended family bonded beyond their wildest expectations. There were many tears at the end of the cruise as each family headed for home.
Words cannot adequately capture the essence of this man. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Peggy; son-in-law, David Spera, son Scott (Diem), daughters Stephanie Cochran (Duke) and Bonnie Bukata (Jeff). Grandchildren are: Taylor Strehlow (Kyle), Trevor Spera, Ella and Sydney Cochran; Bobby, Tyler, and Logan Bukata. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Bildhaurer, and sister-in-law Laura Beyer of Pittsburgh, PA. Jeff is predeceased by his daughter, Cristal Rene Spera; two brothers, John and Jim; and a sister, Jere Arent.
