Jeffrey Lynn Coss 57 of Niantic died Sunday September 30, 2023, in his residence.
A funeral to celebrate Jeffrey's life will be held at 10:00 am. Thursday October 5, 2023, at Tabernacle Baptist Church (650 N. Wyckles Road Decatur 62522) Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday October 4, 2023, at Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care (2442 N. Route 121
Decatur, IL. 62526). The burial will be in Long Point Cemetery Niantic, IL. Memorials may be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Jeffrey was born in July of 1966 in Decatur, the son of Roy and Phyllis Coss. He graduated from MacArthur High School. Jeffrey worked as a Union Bricklayer and as a Teamster Truck Driver for ADM. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed college football. He married Lisa Taylor in February of 1998.
Surviving is his wife, Lisa Taylor Coss, children, Abriana Gessford, Dylan R. Coss, Paige M. Coss, and Justin C. Coss, mother Phyllis Coss, grandchild, Payton Gessford, sisters, Cheryl Coss, Kelly Runyon, brother, Roy "Rusty" Coss, nieces and nephews, Lynsey Foster, Matt Runyon, Jeffrey D. Runyon, great niece, Karlee Lofland, great nephew, Kayden Hurt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Coss, nephew, Mark Runyon and his dog, Peanut.
