Jeffrey Thomas DeVoe, age 61, of Caroga Lake, NY, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Born on April 13, 1962, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late Keith and Marilyn (House) DeVoe.
Jeff was a graduate of Gloversville High School Class of 1980. He was always the life of the party. His home on the lake was his favorite place to be and many great memories were made at his fourth of July parties there. Jeff loved boating, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he loved his daughters. Jeff loved being their dad and devoted his life to them and their happiness.
Jeffrey was employed as a heavy equipment operator for many different construction companies throughout the capital region. At the time of his passing, he was an employee of Gallo Construction.
He is survived by his children, Tabitha DeVoe of Gloversville, NY, Jessica DeVoe (Rowan Lynch-Samant) of Troy, NY; fiancé, Janet Hermance of Caroga Lake, NY; beloved pets, Duffy and Stinker; stepchildren, Matt Hermance (Amanda) of Caroga Lake, NY, Brandon Hermance (Meghan) of Amsterdam, NY; sisters, Lori DeVoe of Mayfield, NY, Nancy Nellis (John) of Gloversville, NY; nephews, Matt Harrington (Jenna) of Mayfield, NY, Michael Harrington of Johnstown, NY, John Nellis (Holly) of Johnstown, NY, Eric Nellis (Samantha) of Johnstown, NY; nieces, Katie Ingrahm (Michael) of Los Angeles, CA, Heather Cameron (Justin) of Johnstown, NY; former wife, Dale DeVoe of Gloversville, NY; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jeff was predeceased by his brother, Timothy John.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Johnstown Eagles Club, 12 S William St, Johnstown, NY 12095.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
