I was friends with Jeff in high school, and he was such a genuinely nice and friendly person. It was a pleasure to reconnect with him online recently and see how happy he was. My heart goes out to all of you--Mrs. Dickens, Cheryl, Ryan, Courtney, Tyler, Jeff's siblings and other loved ones. May you find peace, strength, and comfort in God, each other, and your precious memories of Jeff.

My favorite memory of Jeff is when I was in Junior High. He was in 9th or 10th grade. I had basketball practice, and I didn't have a ride home so I started hitchhiking. It was getting dark and no one was stopping for me. Then Jeff and his dad passed me, and picked me up. I sure was glad to see a friendly face. Jeff was a good dude.

Jeff and I went to high school and played baseball together. He was talented and competitive but always quick with a smile or words of encouragement for a teammate. I was lucky to have him as a friend. My heart goes out to the entire Dickens family. You will be in my prayers.

I worked with Jeff a few years ago. What a wonderful person. He always had such great things to say about his kids and family. Those of us who worked with Jeff at Sherill Furn. hated when he moved on for another job and I know he will be missed greatly now. May God give you the grace and comfort you will need for the future.

My heart goes out to Jeff's family, and I pray that God will heal their grief. I went to school with Jeff, and what I remember most is that he always had a smile and a kind word. People like that in this world are rare. Heaven has welcomed home an angel.

Jeff was a blessing. We all have a purpose to fulfill. He loved his family and was a good man. He will be missed. He made a difference in the people he met here on earth. The last time I saw him was at a store, and we talked a minute about how he was doing, the kids, and ball. He had such a sweet nature. It seems only yesterday he was a little boy, then became a young man with a family. He was loved and showed love to others.
