Jeffrey Lynn Harris

Jeffrey Lynn Harris, 62, of Heflin, Alabama, passed away peacefully at MAB in
Birmingham on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, following a prolonged
illness. Born on June 8, 1963, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Jeffrey was the son of
Rothy Harris and Mary Kate Owens. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted
Christian and attended Heflin Church of God, where he found great joy in playing
his trumpet during worship.

Jeffrey had a creative spirit and a generous heart. He loved cooking-especially
recreating many of his grandmother's cherished recipes-and found fulfillment in
crafting, gardening, canning, music, and working outdoors. Throughout his life, he
faced significant health challenges with remarkable resilience, meeting each day
with strength and determination. His greatest comfort was the hope of being reunited
with his beloved spouse and his mother, a hope that has now been fulfilled.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Rothy Harris and Mary Kate Owen
(Gary Owens); his spouse, Carla; and his grandparents, Homer and Grace Bradey
and Thelma and Virginia Harris and one Stepdaughter Kathy Haynes Mullally.

He is survived by his siblings: Karen Ann Torres of North Carolina; Emanuel Harris
(Jan)of Florida; Janice Halford (Eddie) of North Carolina; and Lee Kranek (Billy) of
Florida. He also leaves behind one Stepson David Hayes of Alabama, aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish
his memory. A Celebration of Life will be held early next year, graveside at Green
Creek First Baptist Church, Green Creek, NC.
