Jeffrey Tarant Kaplan

Stunned to just now find out about Jeff's passing. We were good friends when we both lived in Columbia, SC in the mid 80s. Baruch dayan emet.

Jeffrey will be solely missed. I especially will miss our long chats on his passions. Collecting pipes & tobacco, of which he was a connoisseur, Southern & Jewish and world history. Rest well my friend.

I was privileged to know Jeffery for 50 years. He was the brother of my best friend Sam and wonderful sister Laura. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I had the good fortune to be a student in classes Jeffrey Kaplan taught at the Jewish Study Center and at Congregation Beth El. He was eager to pass on his knowledge of the history of Jews of the US South and did it in an engaging way.

I was so sorry to hear of Jeffrey's passing. Memories of the Kaplan family in Aiken, SC makes up a huge portion of my childhood memories. I spent many a happy time visiting with your family, fondly calling your parents, aunt and uncle. I am sending love and prayers for healing.

Jeffery Kaplan was very kind and caring person always in a good mood and pleasant to be around have nothing but wonderful things to say about him may his family be comforted with the “Mourners of Zion “
Silvia and me will miss him very very much!
