Jeff Lowe, age 68, of Faribault, Minnesota, passed away November 17, 2025 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota a week after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Jeff, the son of Richard and Beverly (Pike) Lowe, was born on April 2, 1957 in Long Beach, California. His family eventually moved to La Palma, California and he attended Buena Park High School, graduating with the class of 1975. After high school graduation, he began his life-long career in the retail and leasing car industry. His job had him moving around the states. During those years he also obtained a private pilot’s license and worked two years on an elementary education program.
While living and working in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jeff met the love of his life, Charlene (Meier) Chester. They married in 1989 at Trondheim Lutheran Church of rural Violin, South Dakota. In 2011, Jeff and Char moved to Faribault, Minnesota. He and Char attended and became members of Christ Lutheran Church from that year on.
Jeff was an avid Bronco fan, had a passionate interest in politics and American History, and was a lover of dogs. According to the family, “He never met a dog that didn’t like him.” He and Char have loved and adopted many dogs over the years, several from rescue shelters.
But the pride of Jeff’s life was his family: his wife, two daughters, son-in-law and three grandchildren, who all brought delight and purpose to his life.
He is survived by his wife Charlene of Faribault, Minnesota; his daughters Krista (Geoffrey) Gill of Elliott City, Maryland, and Leah Chester of Faribault, Minnesota; three grandchildren River, Julian and Oliver Gill; sisters Leslie (Steve) Lykins of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Cathy (Richard) Dickinson of Abilene, Texas; nieces and nephews Christopher (Jaime Killion) Lykins of Country Canyon, California, Tammy (Nathaniel) Gustafson of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Dane Lovelace of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and other relatives and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Richard (Dick) and Beverly Lowe; sister Susan Wilson and nephew Brian Lykins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
