I loved working with Jeff during my time as head of New Business at NM. He had a perfect combination of intellectual horsepower, wit, and caring that made every interaction with him one to look forward to. He mentored many younger professionals in the home office and field with the pure-hearted goal of helping them reach their potential. Jeff, you will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace.

To Jeff's family,
I knew Jeff through Northwestern Mutual. He was in the Home Office and I was an agent in the field. In the field we know him from his self assigned nom de guerre "The Angry Actuary". He work hard to educate all of us regarding the science behind the products we sold and how that should, but doesn't always, trump thoughts. He was always kind and caring. He listened thoughtfully and spoke honestly. In the time before he retired in 2018 he did a regular PowerPoint based newsletter to the field. His last one was in July 2018. I saved it to read every few months and I still do. I posted a photo from a page of that last newsletter. I sums up Jeff nicely.
Rest in Peace Brother!

Dear Family of Jeff Marks, I am so sorry for your loss of such a lovely person. Jeff was my co-worker in the Actuarial Department at Northwestern Mutual in the 1980's. He was a kind soul and treated everyone with respect. I don't recall him saying a bad word about anyone or anything. He will truly be missed! ~ Adele Montanye (nee: Alioto)
