Jeffrey Brian Nelson

Jeffrey Brian Nelson, 69, of Golden Valley, died at home on November 7, 2025 from a sudden cardiac arrest.
Jeff was born on October 2, 1956, in Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Jane Nelson, sister Claudia Nelson, and brother-in-law Rick Nisleit. Survived by stepmother Bobbie Nelson, brother-in-law Jeff Spanel, siblings Douglas Nelson (Alison Jones), Stephanie Schmit (Steve), Charlotte Nisleit, and Gregory Nelson (Kathy), as well as 15 nieces and nephews.
Jeff grew up in the Sunnyview Park neighborhood of Crystal. Jeff was an active resident for 37 years at the Sand Creek-Mary T group home, and was well cared for and loved like family by staff and fellow residents. Before retiring, Jeff enjoyed employment in various industries and other programs through Chrestomathy, Inc.
He medaled in Special Olympics, was an avid crime show watcher, and enjoyed family outings and playing games. Jeff was a valued and frequent patron of the Golden Valley McDonald's.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55429.
Sunday, November 23rd. Visitation from 2:00-3:00 PM, Service at 3:00 PM, and reception following the service.
