I'm so sorry to hear this. I taught Jeff a few semesters ago and he was an absolute pleasure to interact with. He was kind to everyone in online discussions; he gave people who made mistakes the benefit of the doubt, and he never, ever made a grammar error.

He had sent me some of his TED talks, so I knew how difficult it was for him type at all, let alone punctuate correctly. I would have given him a pass on punctuation, and yet he never made an error! He was that thorough and very smart and personable. His essays were full of insight and fun to read.

I'd like to send condolences to his family, particularly his mom, whom he spoke of (via email) with such appreciation and affection.
