Jeffrey Slade Peters, 67, of Indianapolis, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born December 18, 1957, in Shelbyville, the son of Joseph E. Peters and Yantis (Yarling) Spreckelmeyer.
Jeff is survived by his brothers, Shane Peters, and Micheal Peters and wife, Delania, both of Shelbyville; sister, Pamela Peters Moody and husband, Brian, of Saint Croix, Virgin Islands; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and step-father, Stan Spreckelmeyer.
In 1976, Jeff graduated from Shelbyville High School.
Jeff attended Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
He retired from Rieth-Riley Construction with over 30 years of service, while working for Rieth-Riley, he received the "Paver of the Year Award, two years in a row.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's choice of charity.
