Jeffrey Matthew Rushton

Jeffrey Matthew Rushton, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2024. Born on June 12, 1971, in Oak Park, IL. Jeffery's warm spirit and generous nature touched the lives of all who knew him. A cherished father, son, brother, uncle and friend, he left us too soon but leaves behind a legacy of laughter, creativity, and love.
Jeffery will be lovingly remembered by his children, Madison and Gabriel Rushton, who were his pride and joy. His special bond with each of them was unmistakable. His ex-wife, Melissa, will hold dear the memories of their shared journey and the family they built together. Jeffrey's parents, Robert and Carol Rushton, will forever cherish the memories of their son's kind-hearted antics and his ability to light up a room with his humor. He is survived by his siblings Lori A. Rushton-McGrew, Christine Szudrowicz and her husband Paul and Jason Rushton, who will all miss his generous spirit and the creative gifts he shared. Jeffrey was pre-deceased by his brother, Michael Rushton and sister Heidi Buckingham, who both held special places in his heart. His many nieces and nephews will remember their uncle for his playful teasing.
Jeffrey was a proud graduate of Willowbrook High school, and was a dedicated gymnast during those years in school, excelling in all events.
He then joined the National Guard reserves. His career as an industrial maintenance mechanic was marked by a dedication and a strong work ethic. Beyond his professional life Jeffrey was an avid reader, loved music, enjoyed cooking, having bonfires with his family and watching videos and anime. His artistic talents were not limited to his metal sculptures, which were impressive. Each piece he created was infused with his personality, leaving a tangible piece of himself with those he loved.
Jeffrey's sense of humor was one of his most defining traits. He had an uncanny ability to find the humor in any situation and his laughter was infectious.
As we say goodbye to Jeffrey, we celebrate a life lived with joy and laughter. His laughter will echo in the hearts of those who loved him and his creative works will stand as a testament to his unique spirit. While his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, the memories of his funny, generous and creative nature will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
