Jeffrey (Jeff) Lee Schwake of Elma, IA born December 24,1958 to Carol and Eugene Schwake, passed away with his family at his side on October 4, 2025.

Jeff was a man who never met a stranger. His warm smile, easy laugh, and welcoming presence made everyone feel like they belonged.

A talented artist, musician, athlete and carpenter, Jeff lived life with passion and creativity, often turning ordinary moments into unforgettable ones. Music was a constant in Jeff's life, a source of joy and connection. He always found peace in nature and had an incredible green thumb.

Jeff shared a special bond with animals, both wild and domestic, and made many of them part of the family over the years. He had a knack for cooking whether it was a brisket on the grill or brownies in the oven.

Jeff was a hard worker, passing that ethic on to his children. Above all, Jeff's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was proud of his children and the people they've become. His love for grandchildren was unwavering, creating memories they'll carry forever.

He was the kind of person who made good times better. His generosity, humor and loyalty were unmatched. To know Jeff was to be his friend and to be his friend was to be part of something special.

Jeff's Pub is officially closed. But the memories, laughter, and love he poured into every moment will live on in all of us.

Jeff is survived by his mother Carol (Dybevik) Schwake; his former wife Lucy (Lorena Sindelar) Schwake and their children Jennifer (Andy) Johnson, Joshua (Carrie) Schwake, and Jeremiah Schwake; his grandchildren Payne (Codee), Zander, Scarlet, Magdalyn, Abel; his siblings Joel (Letti) Schwake, Lori Krause, Leann (Rusty) Robertson, Jodi (Michelle) Schwake and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Eugene and sister Lynda in infancy.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Elma Community Complex at 319 Oak Street Elma, IA from 1pm-3pm on October 18, 2025. Condolences may be sent to family at 101 Plum Street Elma, IA 50628.
