I lived across from Jeff in Powell, Ohio and got to know an intelligent, independent, kind, witty, creative, compassionate person in Jeff. I recently attempted to find him to become friends on FB and came across his obituary. I am greatly saddened by his passing. We lost touch for some years and it hurts me that I never got a chance to tell him how much he meant to me when I lived in Powell. I am heartbroken to learn of his passing. I met Jeff when I moved across the street from him in Powell, Oh. We got to know each other and went out for lunch once a week. Even when he relocated to Lodi, we would call each other at least once a month and I would drive up to visit every 3 months or so. Jeff was an inspiration for his independence and his ability to deal with all sorts of the never-ending challenges he incurred due to his physical condition. I will remember our spirited political talks that, although we hardly ever agreed, it never impacted our friendship. I will miss Jeff greatly!

Jeff was my cousin. We were very close in age and he felt more like my brother than a cousin. Our childhood was idyllic with lots of family gatherings. We spend most weekends, along with our siblings at our grandparents house.
As we got older we became busy with school and school activities. Our innocence ended with his accident! It was a terrifying time for him, his family and friends but Jeff never gave up! He wanted to be as independent as possible. He spent months in the hospital and hours of therapy! He was even able to attend his senior prom and graduate with his class.
Jeff continued to work towards his goals of leading a normal life! He went to college in Illinois , learned how to drive again and worked at a job that took him to different states. He did all of this in a wheelchair and often alone.
As adults, we didn´t see each other as much but still enjoyed each others company.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to see him when visiting Lodi a few weeks ago.
My biggest regret is that I never told him how incredible he was!
I will miss you Waffie! Love Linda
