Jeffrey Thomas Tormey passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, at the age of 74. He was born on November 27, 1950, in
Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Ruth (Schmelzer) Tormey.
Jeff graduated from LaFollette High School in 1969. In 1972, he married Jean L. Studee, the daughter of James and Rosalyn Studee. Jeff was a US Army veteran, having served three years in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, which included a one-year tour in Germany. Following his military service, Jeff pursued his education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he earned a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1979.
Jeff spent his 41-year career as a Licensed Professional/Structural Engineer, specializing in structural design and rehabilitation, with a particular focus on highway bridges.
As a devout Catholic, Jeff was an active member of the QUEEN OF APOSTLES parish in Pewaukee, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, lector, and altar server at Mass. Jeff also enjoyed playing the piano and guitar.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Jean, daughter Tara (Jeremy) Parks, son Raymond (Kathy) Tormey; four granddaughters, Sierra Parks, Scarlett Parks, Mia Tormey, and Zoe Tormey. Jeff also leaves behind his brothers, Mark (Carol) Tormey, Perry (Marilyn) Tormey, and Brian Tormey, along with his sister Gail (Dean) Maly and sister-in-law Kay Tormey.
Preceding him in death were his brothers, Kevin Tormey and Joseph Tormey, his parents, Robert and Ruth Tormey, and his sister-in-law, Kris Tormey.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at QUEEN OF APOSTLES CATHOLIC CHURCH N35W23360 Capitol Drive, Pewaukee, WI at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 15, 2025, A Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass. Entombment will be held the following day at Resurrection Cemetery in
Madison, WI.
