I've listened to JV since middle school and am now 43. He was the heart of the Bay Area. He always made me laugh and I couldn't wait to hear him every morning. He will be greatly missed. My condolences Natasha. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm still remembering J.V.!! I miss his voice on the radio!!! My dad was listening to him back in the Doghouse days maybe 2002..then I was lured in by his fun endeavors and random activities. No one does it like him!! R.I.P. JV!! Much lov3 to his loved ones!

Even though I never met JV, this loss feels so personal. I listened to him for so many years. Took it for granted that there will be many more morning commutes made easier with JV´s wit and humor. I am surprised by the depth my own sadness. I can´t imagine what his family and friends are going through. Such a beautiful life cut short. What a loss to the world! JV, you are deeply missed. Heartfelt condolences to Natasha and the rest to family.

JV was the highlight my morning drive to work. When I needed a good laugh, I could always count on JV for that. I met JV when I got the Doghouse tattoo at the station, along with several others. I'm glad to be able to experience that moment. And now my tattoo means much more to me. JV you will be truly missed, R.I.P.

I do not think there are any words that can begin to tell anyone what this new world is going to be like with JV. He has been a constant voice in my life since highschool. My sincere condolences to the family, I can only imagine what everyone is going through. I´m sorry this is what you have to go through I hope and know that where ever JV is he will alway s be with you and everyone who loved him. I remember listening to the radio in middle school before heading to school that was always the highlight of my day. He is deeply missed because now I don´t have a therapist in the mornings:( before I get to work.

I remember hearing wild thing for 24 hours then hearing the dog show. I have a son who is 20 & he grew up hearing the JV show. So thanks for all the stories and laughs & sharing your life w us. You will be missed.

Living in the Bay Area in the 90’s and mid 2000’s, Wild 94.9 was set on my radio day and night. J.V’s voice and funny commentaries were a staple in my car on my one hour commute to work Mon-Fri. He was full of energy, and he had some really interesting things to say. I could feel his happiness, and as an avid listener, I never suspected that he was in pain from the Lyme disease. J.V. it pained me to the core, when I heard you were missing, and didn’t want to imagine that you wouldn’t be coming back to your usual radio spot. I pray that your family, friends, and fans, find peace and healing from this devastation. Thank you for making my mornings brighter, and being such an icon in the greater Bay Area. You left your mark, and I know that you are no longer in pain, but relishing in the light and love of the after world.

JV was one of the funniest people on the planet, and listening to the Doghouse radio show in NY is one of my favorite memories. I’ve never laughed so hard so consistently. My condolences to his family, he seemed like a really great guy.

I met JV back in 1990 when he did a perfermance of "All right now" @Club C..I was down visiting from Boston. JV was kind enough to allow me to visit the radio station and see how it all works behind the scene and have a voice over the air going into commercial (fun time ). I will never forget how kind he was, returning home we still kept in touch over the radio and became buddies. I am truly sad to hear such news as my West coast friends keep me updated. I am sending healing prayers to his wife and family ..JV was a very humble friendly guy and he will be missed!

I had the pleasure of listening to the Doghouse every day on my commute to the city. I laughed and cried w the Doghouse( was listening to them during 9/11 attacks).
JV was the ring leader of that crew. Didn’t always agree w JV, but I sure loved to hear what they would come up w next.
