Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd. on Mar. 24, 2025.
Jeffrey L. Welshans, fondly known as Jeff and "Beef", was born on July 28, 1965, in Jersey Shore and passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, at The Gatehouse, at the age of 59.
Jeff was a man whose life was a testament to dedication, love, and faith. For nine years, he worked diligently in warehousing at Grizzly Industrial. His passion, however, extended far beyond his professional life. Jeff was an ardent photographer, capturing the beauty of nature and rustic barns through his lens. He found solace and inspiration while reflecting and meditating on the word of God at Ravensburg Park.
A devoted family man, Jeff cherished his beloved wife and soul mate of 13 years, Julia Welshans. He was a loving father to Patrick Welshans and Joshua (Rebecca) Glace, and a doting grandfather to Everly and Ezra Glace. Jeff's home was filled with warmth and companionship, shared with his cherished pets, Lily the cat, and Josie the dog.
Jeff was a pillar of strength and service in his community, dedicating 42 years as a firefighter and EMT at the Nippenose Volunteer Fire Company Station #6. His commitment to helping others was further exemplified through his active participation in Relay for Life events, where he helped organize relays for many years.
A man of profound faith, Jeff was a dedicated member of the Hope River Church of God in Jersey Shore. He read and studied his Bible every night, spreading the Word and love of God to everyone he encountered.
In addition to his soul mate, Julia, Jeff is survived by his mother, Mary Ann (Horne) Welshans; his sons, Patrick and Joshua (Rebecca); grandchildren, Everly and Ezra; his sister, Lori (Lyle) Oechler; and his niece, Amanda (Eddie) Liedtka. Jeff also leaves behind his extended family at the Nippenose Volunteer Fire Company, including Dean Miller, John Yingling, Jeff Stabley and Kevin Cromley.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Welshans; his nephew, Brian Oechler; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Hymn Sing to celebrate Jeff's inspiring life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM at Cornerstone Faith Fellowship Church, 525 River Mill Rd., Jersey Shore, with Pastor Jeff Pennycoff officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jeff's name to the Brian Oechler Kindness Project, c/o Lori Oechler, 17 Black Bear Ln.,
