Jeffrey James Wenzel passed away at the age of 63 on October 24, 2024 at Abridge Assisted Living in Chilton, WI. He was born April 8, 1961, in Green Bay, WI to Kenneth and Lois (Steinfest) Wenzel.
Jeff attended special education classes in New Holstein and Chilton until age 21. He then spent the next 35 years working at the New Hope Center sheltered workshop in Chilton, where he loved working and had many friends and was "Worker of the Year" in 1991.
Jeff loved country music (especially Johnny Cash), dancing, birthdays (he always remembered everyone's birthday and especially loved celebrating APRIL 8th), Christmas, bowling, bean bags, eating out and time spent with family at the cottage. He was a huge Packer fan and got to meet his favorites Donald Driver and Leroy Butler to name a few. Jeff also enjoyed participating in Special Oylmpics and earned blue ribbons in track and bowling at the state level.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, Lois; siblings, Stephen Wenzel, Scott (Jayne) Wenzel, Kathryn (Ron) Lefeber, and Eric (Kelly) Wenzel; neices and nephews, Logan Wenzel, Megan Wenzel, Connor (Arinn) Wenzel, Christopher (Emily) Lefeber, Cade (Candyce) Lefeber, Claire (Anthony) LaTour, Kelsey (Aaron Polejewski) Wenzel, Patrick (Mia) Wenzel. Six great nieces and nephew, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Waiting for Jeff in his heavenly home is his father Kenneth Wenzel, sister-in-law Jill Wenzel, nephew Ryan Wenzel, aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Jeff was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where a 11:00 AM mass will take place on November 16, 2024, at 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, with the Father Alvan Amadi officiating. Friends and family may visit at Holy Rosary from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family for the New Hope Center in Chilton, WI. A special thank you to all his caregivers at Hearts at Home, Abridge Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice.
