Jeffrey Wright Obituary

Jeffrey Lawrence Wright, known to his many family members and friends as Jeff, was born on April 30, 1958, to the late Oscar and Julia (Martin) Wright in the Bronx, New York. He was the youngest of four children born to this union. His siblings Oscar, Diane and James each have preceded Jeff in death.

Living in the Bronx during the early and middle years of his life, Jeff attended NYC public schools. He graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School in 1976. As a very young man, Jeff's personality shined bright as one who loved and cared about people, especially his family and friends. He was known as one who provided transportation for the neighborhood kids to recreational events. He always had an entrepreneurial (aka Hustle) mindset. Jeff was a "Man with a Plan."

A solid family friend to the Lewis Family back in the late 1970's would move Jeff from the role of "Family Friend" to "Family Member". In 1979, Jeff began dating Roxanne Lewis and love blossomed into a walk down the aisle to Holy Matrimony on June 5, 1982.

The Businessman, Jeff who loved to drive kept him on his grind doing just that, driving. He was responsible for getting passengers for the Jewish Guild, and the Lighthouse for the Blind to their respective destinations. FedEx, Conway and Penske Logistics were proud to have him in their employ.

Among the many highlights of his 43 years of marriage to Roxanne, 3 stand out the most. They are 1986, 1993 and 1998. Those were the respective years of the births of their three sons; Jeffrey Jr., Joshua Anthony (who preceded him in death), and Jordan Scott. In 1994, Jeff and his family moved to Dutchess County and became a member of Full Gospel Center in Lagrangeville, NY.

Jeff had many talents and awesome character traits. He was an avid bowler whose skills were off the charts. His sense of humor and jokes were unmatched. He could be counted on to meet the many requests of his family and friends. "Social Butterfly" could easily be his moniker. "Old School R & B" and "Jazz" were the highlighted genres of music on his playlist.

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Beloved Husband, Exceptional Dad, Awesome Grandfather, Great Son In-law, Fantastic Bowler, Request Granter, Joke teller, Fun-Loving In-Law/Out-law, Transportation Provider, BFF to Lance Brown and Jeffrey Lewis, and an all-around Great Guy-aka Jeffrey Lawrence Wright, finished the final chapter of his book entitled: "Born Wright, Lived Wright, Roxanne Married Wright and Died Wright."

Jeff Leaves to mourn: His beloved wife Roxanne; sons Jeffrey Jr. and Jordan Scott; grandson Isaiah Anthony; daughter in-law Adelene Felix; father in-law James A. Lewis; brothers in-law William Baker Sr. Julian (Sharon) Lewis, and Jim Lewis; sister in-laws Veda (Alphonso) Grampus, Wendy Lewis, Cheryl Lewis, and Patricia Lewis; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
