Michael Geisinger (hereafter only to be known as Jenna Geisinger) passed away at her home in Jefforsonville, Pennsylvania on November 18th, 2024. She passed away 6 months after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Jenna grew up in Spring City, Pennsylvania, also having lived in and near Washington D.C, Upstate New York, and finally settling in Jefforsonville, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Bruce and Harriet Geisinger, and she had a brother, Christopher Geisinger. She graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School in 1979. Afterwards, Jenna attended Wesley College in Dover, DE with a major in Business Administration.
She worked for Valley Forge Information Services as an interviewer for 4 years. She also worked 19 years for Response Center as a data processer, computer programmer, and network engineer. Jenna then worked for 5 years at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit as a job coach and teachers assistant. At the time of her death, she was employed for the last 10 years at Indian Creek Foundation as a direct support professional. Jenna very much loved her work and the clients for which she lovingly cared for. She was a big advocate for inclusion and making sure that her friends were treated with dignity, respect, and equality. Jenna was proud to make a difference in the lives of the people she supported.
Among her many passions were biking, photography, animals (specifically dogs), classic rock music from the 70's and 80's, and spending time with her friends and family. She very much-loved Halloween. Jenna also very much loved Snoopy and Winnie the Pooh. She was a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars. Her favorite movie was Titanic, and she was extremely interested in all historical works concerning the titanic. Jenna loved the beach and would often make trips to Ocean City, Maryland.
She was raised in the Episcopalian faith, but recently found her church home at Methacton Mennonite Church. Jenna lived at home with her wife Brittany, and Brittany's son Zaine, and their three cats, Pierre, Spencer, and Penelope. Jenna also had a dachshund, Buddy, who was her faithful companion for many years.
She is preceded in death by parents Bruce and Harriet Geisinger, and brother Christopher Geisinger. She is survived by her wife, Brittany Rutt of Jeffersonville, Pennsylvania.
A celebration of life service is planned for December 14th, 2024 at 10:00 am at Methacton Mennonite Church. 3081 Mill Road, Eagleville, PA 19403
Jenna was a fierce advocate for trans people and trans rights. It is her biggest wish that trans youth have a safe place to be themselves and receive the care and love they deserve. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her name to the Trevor Project.
