Jennie Frances (Del Viscio) Chenevert, 100, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe & Maria (Mazzarino) Del Viscio.
Jennie worked for the Springfield School Department for 40 years, retiring as a bus monitor at 90 years old. Her presence on the bus was more than supervisory; she became a guardian and friend to generations of children, guiding them with a gentle hand and a kind word, embodying the Christian values she held dear. In prior years, due to her love of cooking, she was a cook at both Lido's and Nardi's Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, and husband of 51 years, Francis Chenevert, she was predeceased by her daughter Lisa, siblings, Joseph, Nancy, Antoinette & Frances, and is survived by her son Paul, grandsons Daniel & Henry, brothers Michael, Richard & wife Cheryl, and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Jennie's Funeral Services will begin Thursday, October 23rd, 9AM at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to her 11AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, burial to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
