1975-2013 ADAMS Jennifer Julie Alibozek, 38, of 5 Clifford Lane, Adams, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her home. She was born in North Adams on February 6, 1975, a daughter of Timothy and Carol (Leitch) Alibozek. She attended Adams schools, and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School in 1993. Jennifer first worked at the switchboard at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, and, while there, took several classes in the medical field, and began working in the laboratory at BMC for several years. She developed an interest in Pathology, and became a pathology assistant for autopsies. She also worked as an assistant for a cancer research program at the former Hillcrest Hospital. In 2004, she moved to New York, and became a pathology assistant at Albany Medical Center. In 2005, she went to work for the Rensselaer County Dept. of Health, where she last worked as a Senior Medico-Legal Investigator in the Chief Medical Examiner's Office, where she investigated scenes of death and assisted with autopsies. An onset of ill health and several surgeries forced her to stop working and return to Adams in 2009. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals, and would always adopt animals in need of a good home. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Timothy and Carol Alibozek, of Adams; two sisters, Kimberly Thorpe and her husband, David, of Tampa, Fla., and Wendy Alibozek of Largo, Fla.; a brother, Timothy Alibozek and his wife, Sandra, of Winthrop, Mass.; her paternal grandmother, Wanda Alibozek of Adams; a niece, Ashley, two nephews, Zachary and Nicholas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Edward Alibozek, Sr., and by her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Irene Leitch. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services and burial will be private.
