Cernuto family,

I was so sad to hear of your loss. There are so many things that happen in life that don't make sense, and death is one of those things. Thankfully, we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, as Romans 8:28 says.

I have always been encouraged by your family's constant love for the Lord and others. Stephanie and Jennifer always brought so much joy to SouthLake and Mooresville. Every time I saw them, they would both come up and give me a big hug and it brightened my day. I am sure many other people have similar stories to share.

I hope that this song will comfort your family as you remember Jennifer and grieve over her loss. Praise God that she is now with Jesus and you will see her again.

Know that I will be thinking of you and praying for you often.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cernuto, even as a complete stranger to you and your family, my heart aches at the loss you have come upon. I am not a religious man but tonight I will say a small prayer for you and your daughter. You are in everyones thoughts, everywhere.

Pam Shrum

July 5, 2011

Sam and family,
I don't know that I have any words that would bring you comfort as it is obvious that Jennifer was a wonderful young woman whose presence will be missed by so many who knew and loved her. As I listened to Austin giving me the news of your loss, my heart ached as I heard his message. Austin spoke so highly of all of the Cernuto girls and I know what a close family you are. I know that only God can give the hope and comfort you are longing for. I pray that you will feel God's love and presence as you rejoice in the promise that in a short time you will all be united and Jennifer will be waiting for you with arms open wide. I pray that your memories will bring you comfort. If we could get one small glimpse of heaven, I know that we would discover that Jennifer is in perfect peace in the arms of Jesus who died for her and loves her beyond measure. I know so many will always carry her in their hearts.

As a mother of a teenage daughter and only child...and as one who lost my only sister in a car accident: I grieve with you. I pray that you will always be comforted by these truths: Your future with Jennifer is greater than your past with her!! Heaven is real! Jennifer is in perfection and paradise! Jennifer was in the presence of our Heavenly Father before we even knew she was gone! He knows your suffering because He also lost a child. ~~Father: If there is any good or glory you can use in this tragedy, please take it and show us. ~~"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in all ways. The Lord be with all of you. II Thess 3:16"

Jeff, Lisa, Samantha and Stephanie,
I just received a message from Cheryl Nabel and we are crushed. I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Jennie. Although we have lost touch over the years, we talk often of our fun times with the "kakis". Our girls were precious together and Lisa, you taught me how to be a mother. If there is anything that I know, it is that Jennifer is with our Lord smiling down on all of us.
Love, Ellie, Chris, Katherine and Andrew

What a vibrant young woman Jen was. She had a near-perfect mix of fearlessness with a warm and compassionate heart. She was as comfortable conversing with adults as she was with people her own age. Her friendship and company was sought by both guys and girls and she was a person who could truly light up a room with her smile and presence. What a force of life she was and what a shining angel she will be. The deepest sympathy of the Silinski family goes out to Jeff, Lisa, Samantha and dearest sweet Steph. May God wrap his healing arms around you. Take comfort in the fact that Jennifer most certainly felt the love of her family throughout her life, as it was evident to everyone in the way you interacted and cherished each other. Peace be with you all in this difficult time.

O for day to walk again slow through the forest deep O for the time to talk again before I go to sleep O for the warmth of summer sun the chill of winters eve and O for the chance to sing my song once more before I go O for the scent of autumn air brisk clean and cold O for the chance to travel where the seas are blue and bold O for the prayer I never prayed O for the kiss I never kissed and O for the chance to sing my song once more while yet I'm missed cry of bird and wail of wind word unspoken sin unsinned a night to dance a hill to climb the chance to sing while there is time O for the taste of meat and ale to linger on my tongue O for the sight of hill and dale and faces that are young O for the hand of one I love the time to bloom and grow and O for the chance to sing my song once more before I go

May the peace of God be with all of you now and forever

Knowing first hand that absolutely nothing in this world can prepare us for the sudden loss of our loved one, I just pray and pray for us all to continue finding strength in re-learning life in spite of our heart break.

Nothing in this world will ever replace seeing that infectious smile, or hearing that burst of laughter, or getting drama filled phone calls, or hearing that sudden burst of a door opening, or feeling those strong hugs, or smelling that familiar fragrance, . . or just sitting quietly while sharing the humdrum of a boring day. . .

Nothing can ever replace these precious everyday things belonging uniquely to someone we love with all our hearts and souls . . .

And nothing can ever take away the blessings of all those memories that continue to remain strong in so many many lives that have been and will continue to be touched by the awesomness of your special loved one.

There are truly no words to ease our grief over such a tragic loss - but I offer you my source of strength . . keep your pride one step ahead of your heartbreak . . embrace your memories . . let your smiles and laughter shine through the tears . . share them . . embrace joy that comes from seeing those smiles and laughter that will shine through their tears . . and never be afraid to embrace the endless supply of prayers, love and sometimes genuine understanding that will continue to bless your lives and bring you strength . . .

We are very sorry to learn of your loss. We lost our son 10 months ago in Iraq. So, our pain is now a common thread. I am so happy to know that your daughter loved the Lord and made HIM a priority in her life. She is with him now and this is a comfort we also share. James had a strong belief in God and is now with him...with your daughter. Thinking about your family with prayers going up for you all. May God be your source of comfort...Susan McClamrock, Concord NC
