Jennifer Marie Copeland

Jennifer Marie (Atkinson) Copeland, a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, stepmom, step grandma, and godmother passed away on July 31, 2024.

Jennifer was born on May 31, 1969, to Patricia (Bowler) Atkinson and David Atkinson in Rockford, IL.

After Jennifer graduated from Boylan High School she continued her education in childcare. After receiving her degree in Early childhood development, Jennifer opened her own business with her best friend June Nicholls, Miss Jennifer’s Daycare which thrived for 27 years. She was loved by many families in the Rockford area.

On October 25, 2014, Jennifer married the love of her life Butch Copeland in Grand Detour, IL. Jennifer and Butch have two dogs, Moses and Katie.

Jennifer was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Harry and Virginia Atkinson, her maternal grandparents Clitus and Vera Bowler, her father David Atkinson, and her nephew Ian Atkinson.

She is survived by her husband Boyce (Butch) Copeland, her mother Patricia Atkinson, her sibling Jeff Atkinson, and her niece Vera Atkinson.

Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her loving niece Vera, grandchildren Kayleigh, Caden, Alyssa, Brandon, Andrew, and Noah, her great-grandchildren Vivian and Aviyana, and her godson William.

A visitation for Jennifer will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108.
