Jennifer Leslie Joy Sawyer Cannon, 81 years of age, of Hagerstown, Maryland, formerly of Oxford, England, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. She was born on March 10, 1944, in Oxford, England, the daughter of the late Leslie James Sawyer and Annie May Kitchen Sawyer.

Jennifer worked as a beautician, a profession where her kindness, warmth, and creativity touched the lives of many. She married her love, Clarence Cannon, and together they shared 56 years of marriage. As a dedicated spouse, she proudly served as a United States Military Wife for 39 years, faithfully supporting Clarence through his service.

She attended the Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown and lived a life centered on family and service. Jennifer enjoyed bingo, gardening, and reading, and she also gave her time as a volunteer at the local elementary school, where she encouraged and supported young students.

She is survived by her son, Michael Cannon and his wife Rochelle, and her daughter, Anne Winger and her husband John. She was the proud grandmother of Craig Cannon and his wife Katlyn, and Erik Winger and his wife Elysia. Jennifer’s legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren, Aidan and Aria Winger and her cat Jade.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Sawyer.

Jennifer will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her steady support as a military wife, and the joy she brought to everyday life.

A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held at the graveside, Friday October 3rd at 11:00 A.M, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Gross officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the A.S.P.C.A. (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
