Jennifer Marguerite Sieg (Jenny Braun), 79, of Pinehurst, Idaho passed away March 7, 2026 at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Jennifer was born February 18, 1947 in Lincoln, Illinois to Hilton A. and Neva M. (Hamblen) Wilson.
Jennifer grew up in a farmhouse in Beason, Illinois, next to her grandparents, John and Lottie (Vail) Wilson. In 1952 the family moved to a farm halfway between McLean and Heyworth, Illinois, where she lived until graduating in 1965. Jennifer loved growing up on the farm.
In January 1968, Jennifer moved to Idaho. She gave birth to her daughter, Rachael, in June 1968 and married David Braun on December 28, 1968. Together they had two sons, Joseph David, born in 1970, and Scott Michael, born in 1974. Jennifer and David separated in October 1996 and divorced in April 1999. Jennifer moved back to Illinois in April 1997. In April 2002, she married Gary Sieg. Together they returned to Idaho in 2005.
Jennifer loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She was their biggest fan and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She enjoyed being outdoors - camping, taking walks, and gardening. She also enjoyed crafts, reading and talking politics - converting a Democrat to a Republican brought a smile to her face. She enjoyed and spent many hours volunteering with Silver Valley Seniors Meals on Wheels, Blood Drives, Catholic Daughters, Elks Lodge, and any other organization that needed extra help.
Since her cancer diagnosis two years ago, Jennifer was a fierce warrior. She stayed strong and fought this relentless battle with both courage and grace, stubbornly refusing to let it win. She had a servant’s heart and was always reaching out to help others, even continuing to serve others between treatments. She was a loyal friend to many. Those who knew her never had to question what she was thinking, she would tell you. She is leaving a huge void in the lives of her many friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Jennifer was preceded in death by her daughter, Rachael, in 1999.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Gary Sieg of Pinehurst; two sons, Joe (Angie) Braun and Scott (Tina) Braun; one stepson, Chad (Christy) Sieg; six grandkids, Mason, Lindsay, Brady, Nick, Travis, Taylor; three great-grandkids, Addie, Dawson, Rachael; three siblings, Jeff (Leisa) Wilson, Jack (Brenda) Wilson, Jane (Keith) Greene; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg.
Memories of Jennifer and messages of condolence may be shared online with her family at www.shoshonefuneralservice.com. Shoshone Funeral Services of the Silver Valley is caring for the Braun family.
