Jennifer Starrett, born on January 1, 1972, in Lafayette, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by her loving partner of 19 years, James Sample, and her devoted family. Jennifer was a beacon of love and compassion, touching the lives of those around her through her selfless dedication as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for ten remarkable years at Autumn Woods Health Campus. There, she took care of the sick and elderly, bringing comfort and warmth to so many who were in need.
Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession, as she became a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She cherished crafting, finding joy in creating beautiful things, but her greatest pride came from watching her family grow. Each milestone, each happy moment spent with her children and grandchildren was a treasure that filled her heart with joy.
Jennifer is survived by her beloved children: daughter Ashley (Michael) Leonard, son Guy (Megan Brumley) Starrett, Jr., daughter Michelle Smith, and son Brandon Moran. She will be deeply missed by her stepdaughter, Nancy Anderson, and her cherished grandchildren: Jason L. Anderson, Jason Pittman, Collin Starrett, Bentley Starrett, Rayleigh Starrett, and Xavier Sieg. Each of them carries a piece of her vibrant spirit in their hearts.
Though her mother, Mary Wallpe, and father, Fred Davis, have predeceased her, the love and lessons they imparted will forever remain a part of her legacy. Jennifer's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, compassion, and strength.
Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Jennifer's remarkable life during a visitation on September 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150.
Jennifer Starrett will be remembered as a loving soul who embraced life with open arms, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the cherished memories and celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
