Jerald Francis Kobliska

Jerald Francis "Jerry" Kobliska, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in

Arroyo Grande, California.

Jerry was born in Deerfield, Iowa, on April 1, 1933, where he spent his early years growing

up in various parts of the state. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Rita Eileen

Joerger, he moved to California, where they raised their family and made their home.

Jerry dedicated 33 years of his working life to Pacific Bell, where he was known for his

strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, he was happiest lending a helping hand-

always ready to take on a small project, fix something around the house, or help someone in

need. However, not all his projects were small. He led the Kobliska team in building the

family cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He was kind, helpful, and had a wonderful

sense of humor. A natural jokester, Jerry loved to make others laugh and brought lightness

and joy wherever he went.

Above all, Jerry was deeply proud of his family. He was a devoted husband, father,

grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his love for his family was evident in everything he

did. He was also a faithful and devoted Catholic, whose life reflected his strong belief in

service, generosity, and love of others.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Rita Eileen Kobliska; his children, Stephen

Kobliska (Cindy), Tony Kobliska (Debby), Gina Nichols (Ken), Kris Kobliska (Angie), Lisa

O'Neill, Paula Martin (Dutch), Matthew Kobliska (Laurie), and Andrew Kobliska (Stefanie);

21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Shawn

Kobliska, and infant son, Kevin Kobliska.

A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Reis Mortuary in San

Luis Obispo, California. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 9, 2026, at

10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Arroyo Grande, California. Entombment will follow

immediately after the Mass at Old Mission Cemetery in San Luis Obispo, California.

Jerry will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, his willingness to help anyone in

need, and his unwavering devotion to his faith and family. May he rest in eternal peace and

be welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord.
