In memory of
James Wiemann
July 3, 2017
Helen and Family,
It made me ill today to hear of Jerry's passing. His charisma, stamina, and knowledge are an example for all of the rest of us to try and follow. He was one of my "Yodas" and always willing to share his helpful knowledge, humor, and smile. What a great guy that won't be forgotten. We will pray for your hearts to heal.

I have not seen Jerry since bike riding with him in high school between Eden and North Collins New York ... He was always two bike lengths ahead of me !!! His sister Cheryl used to babysit me in the good old days ... Jerry was always very friendly and a motivator to others ... No wonder he has so many friends ... His athletic accomplishments are no surprise to me after all these years ... My condolences to his wife and family !!! A truly very wonderful and genuine person ...

Helen, My sympathy and prayers are sent to you during this tragic and heartbreaking time. Jerry was a best friend. I was always amazed by the latest activity or race he completed. Was there an athletic event created that Jerry would not have tried? He was always positive and enthusiastic with a can do attitude and personality, it was a pick me up and recharge to talk with him. I will miss our calls and chats. My memories of our times together as ceramic majors and roommates at AU will brighten my future days.

I met Jeremiah by chance when a friend and I were riding, carrying, jumping on and off our bikes at Benedictine Park. Jeremiah knew we were "training" for cyclocross and engaged us in conversation. He was humble (we didn't know he was a world ranking Triathlon). He took the time to give advice to newbies. The second time I met Jeremiah was at the end of the Mill Cities Marathon relay. He remembered me from the park and gave me a huge hug like we were the oldest and bestest friends. Although I knew him briefly, he left a beautiful impression. I am so sorry for your loss.

Helen, It's obvious by all the tributes that Jerry touched the lives of many and left those individuals with meaningful memories. I too have great memories of working with Jerry from our days together at Saphikon, remembering our Ironman send off for him and our participation in teaming events with Outward Bound programs. Please know that your are in my thoughts.

As a fellow triathlete and runner, I have had the pleasure of knowing Jerry for over a decade. We participated in many of the same events and group training runs each year. You could always count on his big smile and friendly light hearted attitude to relieve some of the pre-race jitters and brighten the day. He was always on the top of his game and inspired me to try and do the same. I'm really going to miss seeing him out there. Todd Gerrish, friend and fellow athlete, Greenland , NH

Shocked and sad. I first met Jeremiah at an interview for my first real job after college. I left his office thinking that could not have gone any worse. So thankful he didn't feel the same way and hired me anyway. He was a great teacher, and just had a way of pushing me to always do it bigger and better. A great mentor and friend!

As go about my chores and errands I say to myself what would Jerry do? He would laugh, encourage, give hope, make people smile and on and on I could go! I will miss seeing him on his bike going past my house and listening to him have conversations with my dog.All with that great smile! Helen we are all here for you.

Many happy hours were spent riding with Jerry in a van during Reach the Beach relays. Jerry's spirit and enthusiasm kept us going. He always volunteered for the longest legs which he ran at a fast pace enabling him to pass many of the other runners. The joy on his face when he learned our Gate City team had won the veterans division was something to behold. He will be missed but never forgotten.

I remember those days when I first started competing in Biathlons and Triathlons. You were always there after the race to help give advice to novices like me. When I opened my Tri shop in Henniker, you use to cycle out to the shop, stop off to say hi and check out the new things we have and fill up on some cold water. I am also stunned and heartbroken as well. I tried so hard to beat you in many races that we both were in, to no avail. RIP my friend and I will pray for you.

Helen,
Helen, I,m so,so sorry. Jerry had such a life force, positive, never give up attitude. Even though he was always able to beat me soundly at any athletic event, he was gracious and motivating. I didn't see him often, but always went away feeling better. You're both in my thoughts.

I had the pleasure of seeing Jerry intermittently over the past 25 years and he was always one of my favorite people to be with. I enjoyed his drive, his curiosity and his positive energy. Thanks for what you left us with Jerry.
