Carl T. Sanders, Jr. (June, as he was known to some) fell asleep in death on April 25, 2024 at Skilled Care of Mexia under the excellent care of AccentCare hospice services. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 30, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in the Pavilion at Fort Parker Memorial Park Cemetery with Clantzy Ballard officiating.

Carl was born on January 22, 1936 to Carl and Ruthie Jewel Sanders. He was one of 15 children. He spent his childhood in Oletha. He married Roberta Favors, who became the mother of his 5 children, Donnie, Janet, twins, Hope and Joy and the youngest, Christopher. Carl moved to the Houston area in 1957.

He retired to Groesbeck in 2000 after 30+ years working with Anheuser-Busch as a lab technician.

He is survived by a brother, Charles Sanders and wife Darlene; sister, Joan Ferguson; son, Donnie Sanders and wife Karen; daughter, Janet Ridge and husband Billie; daughter, Wynona Hope Rawlinson; son, Christopher Sanders and partner Amanda Duane; grandchildren Krystle Gandhi and husband Raj, Jeremy Rawlinson, Kali Barco and husband Timothy, Rachel Ballard and husband Clantzy, Jacob Rawlinson, Tisha Sanders, Betty Jean Lobello, Christian Joy Sanders, Shelby Sanders, Justin Thomas Sanders; 12 great grandchildren, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Joy Louise Foreman; father, Carl Sanders; mother, Ruthie Jewel Sanders; brothers: Jimmy Ray Sanders, Cleveland Loy Sanders, Larry Truman Sanders, Robert Glen Sanders, Oia Kent (Kenny) Sanders, Willie Wade Sanders, and Robert Lee (RL) Sanders; sisters: Ora Lee Johnson, Wanda Faye Texter, Ella Louise Collins, Reba Diane Kerzee, and Ruthie Jo Sanders.
