Jeri A. (Moody) Miorandi, 77, of Frontenac, died on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at her home.
She was born September 24, 1946 at Parsons, a daughter of James and Leona (Miller) Moody. She was raised at Parsons and attended school here. After graduating from the Parsons High School in 1964 she attended the Independence Community College and later Labette Community College. She was first employed at Labette Bank in Altamont and then the post office there. She later worked at the Watco Railroad in Coffeyville and later transferred and moved to Pittsburg. She retired in 2013 and moved to Frontenac in 2022.
On June 27, 1992 she was united in marriage to Gary L. Miorandi at Parsons. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2015.
She was a member of the former Central Avenue Christian Church at Parsons which later became First Christian. She enjoyed birdwatching, sewing, ceramics and other crafts.
Survivors include: one daughter – Shelli R. Cunningham, Pittsburg, KS; one step-son – Douglas L. Miorandi (Heather), Chandler, AZ; four grandchildren – Jared (Brittany) Smethwick, Matia Miorandi, Ella Miorandi, Avery Miorandi; one great-grandson – Brayzen Smethwick; two brothers – Fred L. Moody (Jana), Benbrook, TX, James "Jim" Moody, Wichita, KS; one sister – Phyllis M. Moody (Terri), Hillsborough, NC. She was preceded in death by her father – Edwin James Moody; her mother - Leona Moody-Russell; her step-father – Claude Russell; one sister – Marcia "Susie" Costner; one nephew – Justin Brant LaForge.
Memorial services are scheduled to be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Rev. Jenifer Dawson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Restlawn Cemetery at Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service-time Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.
