Jerlene Kay Morrison, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Covington, Georgia, surrounded by her family.
Born with a warm heart and a vibrant spirit, Jerlene never met a stranger. Her kindness, wit, and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone made her a treasured friend and confidante to many. She had a passion for flowers, a love of cooking, and a genuine joy in connecting with others.
Jerlene was a proud and accomplished Master Barber. Her career led her to Georgia as the working Manager of three Barber Shops including Fort Gilliam, McPherson and Dobbins AFB. She served countless military personnel with skill, care and a huge heart. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her own business, Beaver Run Barber Shop, which became a beloved local institution.
She was the wife of the late Paul Morrison, and a cherished mother to Steven Hayes (Angie) and Javonda Critchelow (Kevin). She was a loving grandmother to Hunter, Andrea, Julie, Lindsey, and Ryan, a proud great-grandmother to Haley, Luke, Allie Rose, Lane, Case, Claire, Mena, Barrett, Wren, and Leo Avett. She was additionally blessed with great-great-granddaughters Mya and Kayleigh, and her family joyfully awaits the arrival of a great grandson Sutton Hayes. Jerlene is survived by siblings Shirley Hogan, Rondell Blair, Judy Blair Kirby, Helen Sue Page, Raymond Blair, Louann Garner, and Mack Blair. She was preceded in death by her brother Randall Blair and her cherished parents Robert Blair and Edith Webb Blair.
Her legacy of love, strength, laughter, and kindness lives on through her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever.
A celebration of Jerlene’s life will be held April 18th from 3:00 - 5:00 Eastern Time at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, GA 30014.
Her final resting place will be an inurnment at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 420 Albert Gallatin Rd., Gallatin TN, 37066 with Alexander Funeral Home managing the service.
