Jerome Mathias "Jerry" Dehmer

August 24, 1942 – February 5, 2025
Jerry Dehmer, age 82, of St. Michael, MN passed away at home on February 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on August 24, 1942, to Rudolph and Laura (Eicher) Dehmer.
He grew up on the family farm with his brothers and sisters.
In 1962, Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Cecelia "Bitzie" Anibas Dehmer. God blessed their marriage with five children.
In 1999, Jerry purchased land up north near Fosston to continue his love of farming. He loved planting crops and watching them grow. He continued his passion for farming through the 2024 harvest season combining for his final time.
Jerry was a life-long member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He had a strong faith, and a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was sure to say the rosary on his many trips up north and home. A legacy he passed on to his children.
He loved the outdoors, trapping, hunting and fishing with his family. His pride and joy was taking his grandchildren out for their first deer hunt, but always teaching them the importance of fulfilling your Sunday Mass obligation. In previous years, Jerry also served his community as a volunteer firefighter.
Survived by his loving wife of 62 years: Cecelia "Bitzie"; daughters: Cheryl (Ken) Lenneman, Bonnie (Jeff) Strand, Jeanne (Jay) Baldwin, Shelly (Steve) Barthel and by a son: Matt (Kirsten) Dehmer; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; siblings: Francis (Jan) Dehmer, Mary Gindele and Sr. Joanne Dehmer; sisters-in-law: Irma Servaty and Judy Dehmer and by a brother-in-law: LeRoy Kasper; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Rudolph & Laura (Eicher) Dehmer, brothers John and Tom Dehmer, brothers-in-law Al Gindele and Joe Servaty, sisters-in-law Julie Dehmer and Marlene Kasper, nephews Nick and Dean Dehmer and by a niece Connie Severson.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry Dehmer will be held on Thursday, February 13th 11:00 A.M. St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Father Michael Becker will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at The St. Michael Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12th from 4-7 at the funeral home. Further visitation Thursday morning, February 13th one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Casket Bearers-Grandsons will be Eric Lenneman, Ryan Barthel, Blake Barthel, Garret Barthel, Alex Baldwin and Oscar Dehmer.
