Jerome Dotson, age 55, of Reidsville, Georgia, passed away on December 21, 2025, at Optim Medical Center in Tattnall County. Born on December 5, 1970, in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late Robert Lee Dotson and Annette Sharpe Dotson. A lifelong resident of Tattnall County, Jerome was a 1990 graduate of Reidsville High School and carried a deep-rooted love for his community throughout his life.
From a young age, Jerome could often be found helping his grandfather on the farm, where he developed a lasting appreciation for hard work, the outdoors, and farming. That early passion followed him into adulthood, culminating in a career he truly loved. Jerome was employed with Mark Glisson Farms as Operations Manager, a role he fulfilled with dedication and pride. Few things brought him more joy than riding a tractor and staying busy, as Jerome was never one to sit still.
Away from the fields, Jerome enjoyed black-and-white movies, often saying they reminded him of simpler times. His family fondly recalls his unique personality and sense of humor, describing him as “consistently inconsistent.” His sons lovingly remember countless pine trees planted only to be harrowed up days later, or a fence painstakingly installed and then removed within a week, all part of what made Jerome uniquely himself.
Above all else, Jerome was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater happiness than time spent with them. A man of strong hands, a busy heart, and a generous soul, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his wife, Lynn Dotson of Reidsville; two sons, Cody (Steffany) Dotson of Reidsville and Casey Dotson of Statesboro; a daughter, Kaitlin Dotson of Reidsville; his mother, Annette Sharpe Dotson; a sister, Melanie (Bobby) Carder of Reidsville; two grandchildren, Jacy and Jack Dotson; and numerous friends made along life’s journey.
