Jerome Gilliam, son of the late William "Bill" and Pearl B. Gilliam passed Monday, May 20, 2024.
He was a member of New Faith Baptist Church. He graduated from James F. Byrnes High School. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved the Atlanta Braves and Green Bay Packers. Jerome also, loved and cared for his family and friends. He was formerly employed with Copper River Restaurant.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Jerome include his daughters, Yolanda (LaMicheal) Askew and Cassandra (Travis) Sheppard both of Simpsonville, SC; siblings, Rosetta (Daniel) Fryar of Mt. Rainer, MD, Matthew (Eunice) Gilliam of Taylors, SC, Essie M. (Harvey) Ray of Ellenwood, GA, Nellie (Shahid) El-Amin of Anderson, SC, Melva (Rev. Jimmie) Bruton of Greer, SC, Joel (Wyonnie) Gilliam of Taylors, SC and Jeffery (Carrie) Gilliam of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren; dog Bo and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two of his sisters, Martha Ann Fowler and Ethel M. Cohen.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 24, 2024, 11:00 AM at New Faith Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Thursday, May 23, 2024, 4:300PM until 6:00 PM at the mortuary.
