Jerome Manos, 64, of Watseka passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Jerome was born on August 1, 1959 in Chicago, the son of Thomas and Judith Ann (Dagnillo) Manos Jr. He married Barbara Easter on May 21, 1983 at St. Edmund Church in Watseka.
He is survived by his wife, Barb Manos of Watseka; one son, Andrew (Kayla) Manos of Belfast, TN and one daughter, Katherine (Vincent) Giannola of Belfast, TN. Jerome was Papa-Q to his grandchildren, Rhett and Easton, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his mother, Judith Manos of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Anthony “Tony” (Jennifer) Manos of Flossmoor; one sister, Christina “Chris” (George) Miller of San Diego, CA; and one brother-in-law, Michael Lareau of Watseka.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Thomas Manos III; and one sister, Regina “Jean” Lareau.
Jerome served as a Watseka Fire Department Captain for many years as well as earning the achievement of Eagle Scout. He was also active in Boy Scouts of America. Jerome enjoyed hunting, cooking, camping, and traveling. He was a member of St. Edmund Catholic Church in Watseka and a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus.
A memorial visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
A memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at St. Edmund Catholic Church in Watseka. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.
