Jerome “Jerry” Peltier, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Denham Springs, Louisiana. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Musso Peltier for 69 years and the loving father of the late Angelo Peltier (wife, Karen) and the late Bridget Schlosser (John). Jerry is also survived by grandchildren, Brandon Peltier (wife, Elizabeth), Andrew Peltier (wife, Emily) and Corey Peltier (wife, Hannah), also five great grandsons and one great granddaughter. The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to his caretaker, Shelia Bourgeois.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Irma Peltier; sisters, Erin P. Bourgeois and Marilyn Peltier.
Jerry was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Bernard Parish for forty five years until Hurricane Katrina forced he and his family to move to Baton Rouge, Louisiana until the time of his death. He was employed by the Federal Government for thirty-four years working at the National Finance Center. Jerry was very recreationally oriented and was proud to have participated in two Boston Marathons. He served as a high school and college basketball official for a period of thirty-five years. He later worked for the St. Bernard Recreation Department for another ten years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA 70043 on Saturday, February 21st from 10:00 to 11:00, followed by a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00AM.
