Jerome W. Stangis

Jerome "Jerry" W. Stangis, age 86, of Canton, MI, passed away on March 19, 2025.  He was born on February 6, 1939, in DelRay, MI, to his parents, the late Agnes (née Nauseda) and William Stangis.  He is the beloved husband to Sandra Stangis; proud father to two children; Greg (Kerry) Stangis and the late Kathleen Stangis. He has five grandchildren; Hannah Stangis, Gabrielle Stangis, Andrew Stangis, Natalie Stangis, and Christopher (Julie) Edwards; two great-grandchildren; Grace Edwards and Carter Edwards and many nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Kathleen, two sisters; Patricia (late Robert) Chetkovich and Carol (late Robert) Kenning.

Jerome dedicated over 25 years of his working career as a Data Center Manager at Kelsey-Hayes before retiring. In his free time, he had a passion for reading and following the local teams. He and Sandy loved to travel, especially out west and to their Aruba timeshare where they created countless cherished memories. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whether taking them to the movies or sharing a moment together.

Family and friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  A funeral service to honor Jerry’s life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M at the Funeral Home. Friends may begin visiting at 10 A.M.
