Jeromey Harvey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Whitley Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. - Kalamazoo on Jan. 27, 2025.
Jeromey Jervon Harvey, affectionately known as, "Hammer, Jay, or Jay Money", born May 17, 1992 in Saginaw, Michigan to Jimmie and Erica Harvey, II, departed this life on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Jeromey was a vibrant individual who left a lasting impact on those with whom he came in contact.
Jeromey attended Wyoming Public Schools in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from West Ottawa High School in Holland, Michigan in 2010. He enjoyed sports and was a member of the basketball and soccer teams. He later pursued a career in construction, working for various companies in the Kalamazoo area. He also worked as a cook for the family owned food truck, J'Harvey's BBQ, LLC.
Jeromey's enjoyment of playing sports never faded, as reflected in his later established interest in boxing. Although he was training to become a boxer, basketball was his passion. He was a member of the Vancouver Wild Basketball team (Jersey #32) and played a key role in the team's success. Jeromey's dedication to the game was unwavering, as he strived to perfect his skills. Because of his enthusiasm for the game, he was inspired to become a basketball official. Jeromey also loved playing video games and spades, and would play all night, as long as he was winning. Beyond sports and games, Jeromey cherished his family and was well-respected by his peers. In 2011, God blessed Jeromey with a big bundle of joy, a son, Jace Anthony Harvey, whom he loved so dearly. Jeromey was known for his kind demeanor, compassionate heart, and protective nature.
Jeromey reared in the church, worshipped the Lord and was a member of Resurrection Life Ministries under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Joe Wilkins, Sr.
Jeromey is preceded in death by his grandfather, Burl Cone, Jr.; grandmother, Mattie Harvey, and aunt, Vera Barefield.
Jeromey leaves to cherish his loving memories: son; Jace Anthony Harvey; parents, Jimmie and Erica Harvey, II.; sister, JerQulia (Travail) Collins; brother, Jimmie Harvey, III.; grandfather, Jimmie Harvey, Sr.; grandmother, Deborah Brooks; uncles, James Harvey, Marvin Harvey, and Charles (Ivy) Brooks; aunt, Ebony (Johawn Jenkins) Cones; special friends, Issa Smith, Derrick Palmer, and Tavario Feagin, aka, "TJ"; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Jeromey will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A very respectful young man that was kind and loved by his family dearly. His life touched our lives with his smiles, laughter and joy for life. God bless his family with peace and fond memories of their short but amazing life with a son, a brother, a father, a relative and a friend. Young man you will truly be missed daily and forever. We are thankful that you are in God's hands.

Jeromey was my friend, always an open door, always a safe haven, always there to give a hug, tell me it was going to be ok, to help me see i was stronger than even i knew. I walked into his door many times broken, and I left strength renewed, I left whole, I left feeling like the world was once again something i could handle. So many times this was an illusion that jeromey convinced me into believing. I dont really know what to do now that he is not going to be there, he was always there. I thought i had time, I thought we would talk later, I was wrong. I wish i had just a little more time, one more visit, one more phone call, one more hug. I loved him like a friend, like a brother, like family. He was family. I pray for his family and send love, and I hope god wraps his loving arms around you at this time to hold you up. until we meet again my friend.
