Jerrall Benson Marx Jr.

Jerrall Benson Marx Jr. passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 76, in Round Rock, Texas, following a brief but intense battle with cancer. Born on September 6, 1949, in Austin, Texas, Jerrall grew up on a small family farm and participated in the Future Farmers of America during his youth.
In 1980, Jerrall married Susan Marie Holbrook. Through this marriage, he adopted her three young daughters, Michelle, Sherri, and Terri. The couple shared 43 years of marriage until Susan's passing in 2023. Jerrall will be laid to rest beside her.
Jerrall was a skilled locksmith, dedicating more than two decades of service to the University of Texas. In addition to his work there, he operated an independent locksmith business, serving many companies throughout the Austin area and earning a reputation for reliability and expertise. Outside of work, Jerrall enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He was a proud Texas barbecue enthusiast and self-proclaimed connoisseur, often spending hours smoking meats for friends and family. In earlier years, he found joy in camping and fishing, and later in life he became an avid reader of western novels. He also enjoyed traveling to watch his grandchildren participate in various sports and activities. A quiet caretaker by nature, he also had a soft spot for animals and adopted more than one neighborhood stray cat, making sure they were fed each day.
Jerrall is survived by his three daughters, Michelle Marx, Sherri Hassinger, and Terri Bonnet; five grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Marx; his parents, Benson and Fannie Marx; and his siblings, Ruby Raschke and Charlie Marx.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Round Rock Cemetery.
