Jerre Sicuro Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jerre Sicuro

June 19, 1937 - June 14, 2025

Jerre Sicuro, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, just five days shy of his 88th birthday. Born in Xenia, Ohio, Jerre made his home in Driftwood, Texas, where he spent his later years surrounded by the warmth of family, friends, and the beauty of the Texas Hill Country.

Jerre was a talented and passionate graphic designer in Houston, TX whose creativity touched countless projects and people throughout his career. Beyond his professional life, he found joy in painting, traveling, and fishing.

Jerre is survived by his loving son, Jason Sicuro, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Sicuro, and his cherished granddaughters, Kathryn and Madelyn Sicuro. He is also remembered with love by his mother-in-law, Christine Wagoner Rich; his sister, Kandy Diehm, and brother-in-law, Doug Diehm; sister-in-law, Pamela Henson and brother-in-law, Bobby Henson; sister-in-law, Mary Beth Broussard; and nephews, Kevin and Eric Henson; and niece, Lily Marie Sefa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerre Sicuro and Mary Esther Hook, and wife of 47 years Carol Ann Sicuro whose memory he always held close.

Jerre's warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his art, his family, and the many lives he touched.

A celebration of Jerre's life will be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by spending time doing something creative or simply enjoying a quiet moment outdoors.

I considered Jerre my mentor when I landed my first agency job at Boswell & Partners. I admired him so much and learned lessons I used throughout my career. Thank you, Jerre, you will be missed.

I met and worked with Jerre in Houston advertising. When I was a newbie and had a "press check," he saw my look of horror as to what that meant. He giggled his famous giggle and pointed to a man´s tie on the photo. "See the stripes, he asked me?" "Yes." "Make sure the stripes are inside the lines," he instructed.

Years later when I went out on my own, Jerre gave me pearls of wisdom. "When a client says `Whatever it costs; money is no object,´ run the other way." "It means he has no intention of paying you." "If the client is concerned about cost, that one pays his bills." I remember that as if it were yesterday.
My deepest condolences to the Sicuro family. May Jerre Rest in Eternal Peace with a nice glass of Italian red wine.

So sad to hear of Jerres passing although I know he is with his best friend and wife Carol. They both will always be in my heart. My prayers will be for you and your family at this difficult time. We all loved Jerre and Carol so much.

Jerre was a colleague and dear friend to me during our advertising days in Houston until 2004. I then moved to Tucson and Jerre and Carol retired as well. I saw him once when I came back to Texas and so enjoyed our visit. He was such a talented guy and also fun to be with. I will cherish his memory always. My sincere sympathy to you Jason and the whole family. RIP dear friend. Don Boswell
