In Loving Memory of Jerrell "Butch" Cloud
Born: November 28, 1962
Passed Away: October 15, 2025
Born to Wilma Dean Bunch and Jerrell Cloud, Jerrell "Butch" Cloud is preceded in death by the love of his life, Penny Lynn Rains Cloud; his father, Jerrell Cloud; and several uncles and aunts. He is survived by his sons Jerry (Rebekah), Jeffery (Chelsea), and Justin (Lauren); his daughter Lexie; and his mother Wilma.
Jerrell married the love of his life, Penny Lynn Rains, on June 18, 1981. Together they raised three boys and one girl who filled their home with laughter and love. Later, he proudly stepped into his favorite role as "Gramps" - affectionately known as "Grumpy Gramps" - to eleven grandchildren: Landen, Layla, Addie, Allie, Luke, Ben, Karson, Susannah, Lane, Kaiser, and their angel, Meliyah.
Jerrell built a respected career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, while serving patients across Berea Hospital, St. Joseph London (formerly Marymount Hospital), Grace Health, and most recently, Norton Hospital. Though he held several positions, Jerrell's heart was always with his patients. He preferred working on the floor, caring for people directly, and ensuring every patient was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. His dedication to his profession and those he served led to his appointment on the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care, where he helped uphold the standards of care across the state.
Jerrell had a love for superheroes, classic movies, and sports memorabilia - a reflection of the strength, humor, and loyalty that defined him. He enjoyed sharing that passion with his kids and grandkids, whether watching a movie, attending a game, or adding a new piece to his collection. His family was his greatest joy, and every moment spent with them was his most valued treasure.
Jerrell was a proud member of South Park United Baptist Church, where his quiet faith and humble spirit reflected the way he lived - steady, kind, and grounded in love for others. He will be remembered for his compassion, his humor, and his unwavering devotion to his family and faith.
Funeral services for Mr. Jerrell "Butch" Cloud will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Carroll and Pastor Matt Ridener officiating. Burial will follow in the Worley Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky. The family of Mr. Jerrell "Butch" Cloud will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the South Park United Baptist Church, 102 22nd Street, Corbin, Kentucky 40701
Laurel Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Cloud Family.
