Jerri Maroney Obituary

Jerri Lynn Maroney, age 58, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly at Hershey Medical Center on November 12, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on December 30th, 1966 in Saratoga Springs, New York to the late Gerald Francis and Barbara (Loomis) Francis.
Jerri grew up in Saratoga Springs. She moved from New York to North Carolina before making Harrisburg, PA her home. She earned her Psy.D. from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She had an extraordinary gift for listening, understanding, and guiding people through life's challenges with compassion and honesty. Her quick wit and sharp sense of humor could light up any room, offering laughter even in the most difficult moments. Outside of her work, Jerri found immense joy in the kitchen. Cooking was her love language. Whether she was experimenting with new recipes or recreating old family favorites, she believed food was one of the purest ways to show care. Her table was always full, not just with good food, but with warmth, conversation, and love.
Jerri is survived by her husband of 32 years, Brian Maroney. She is survived by her daughter, Skyler Maroney(Anthony) of PA; son, Adam Maroney of PA; sister, Pamela Staab(David) of NC; brother, Maynard Francis(Denise) of NY. At her request the family will have no services.
Our Wife, Mother, Family member and Friend to many, Jerri, will be truly missed.

Jerry-Lynn touched my heart. Jerri surprised me with an abundance of beautiful baby clothes when I had my first child, Aijalon. Jerri was a loving & thoughtful person. I remember talking with her before she made a big decision to move to Pennsylvania away from her family and friends. She had an independent spirit and was looking forward to her educational goals. I am so proud of her working in the field of Psychology. A very interesting field. Wow! To her children Schuyler and Adam may you know that our Creater, Jehova, Father is real and alive. He will send the Holy Spirit to comfort you and guide you. You are not alone. Jehova God has a plan for your life. Do not lean on your own understanding. Always remember you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. There is power in the name of Jesus. I hope you will seek him out for he is a wonderful counselor. Your mom is in the Spirit and is with the Father please take refuge that she is with the Lord and you will see her again in eternity. I am going to miss working with Jerri. This has all been shocking to us. I had a great phone call with Jerri a little over a month ago in regards to a mutual client but we always shared experiences and personal things going on at the time. She always made me laugh and we encouraged each other as many of us do here at PerformCare. I can only imagine how shocking this has been to your family. You have all been in my prayers!

Thinking of your family and sending thoughts of comfort to you all. I feel honored to have known Jerri and she will be so greatly missed. She was an amazing mentor and supervisor for me for many years, someone I could always count on to lend a listening ear and to give the advice I needed in any situation. I am so saddened to hear of her death and the world for sure will have less light in it. She is a person who personified the quote "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel"- although I still can remember some of the things she said and did, which was always full of wit and humor- but when I think of her, I think of how she made others feel- heard, seen, and supported. When she was my supervisor, my Dad died unexpectedly and she was an amazing person to lean on in my grief- providing unwavering support and comfort- I will never forget how she compassionately listened and provided the grace and kindness needed while I was in the depths of grief. She was truly a gift and a light, and hoping you can find comfort and peace in the memories. Jerri made an incredible impact on this world.
